How to Order Custom NCR Carbonless Forms
A practical guide to ordering custom NCR carbonless forms: choosing parts, paper colors, numbering, sizes and binding, and what to have ready for your quote.
NCR (no carbon required) forms make instant copies without carbon sheets. Writing on the top sheet transfers the image to the sheets underneath, so each party keeps a copy. Invoices, work orders, receipts, delivery tickets and inspection forms are common uses.
1. Decide how many parts you need
Forms are usually 2-part, 3-part or 4-part. Count who needs a copy: for example, the customer, the office and the technician. Each extra part adds a sheet to every set.
2. Pick the part colors
Parts are often different colors (such as white, canary and pink) so each copy is easy to route. Write down which color goes to which person.
3. Choose a size
Common sizes are full letter (8.5 x 11 in.) and half letter (8.5 x 5.5 in.). Use a larger size if people need more writing space.
4. Consecutive numbering
Many businesses number each set so every invoice or ticket can be tracked. Tell us your starting number if you want to continue an existing sequence.
5. Padding or books
Sets can be glued into pads or bound into books. Books keep a record together; pads let you tear sets off as you go.
6. Have your layout ready
Send a copy of your current form, a sketch or a digital file. Include your logo, contact details and any fine print.
